What we do

You pick the dream, anywhere in the USA or Canada. We plan every day of it, with a Plan B for the weather, the snow, and the tide.

Jagged gray peaks rising over dark evergreen forest under a clear blue sky
Glacier National Park, Montana.

If it's on the map, we'll plan it. Then you book everything yourself through the links we give you, at the provider's own price. We don't take commissions.

Your pace

Every pace, every ability.

From scenic drives to 14er summits, and everything in between. Pick how far you want to walk each day and we build the trip around it.

Mixed group? Two paces, one trip.

Some of you want the summit, some want the overlook and a long lunch. We plan both, with a time and place to meet back up.

Mobility needs? Tell us.

How far is comfortable, stairs, uneven ground, rest stops. We plan around it and link each park's own accessibility information, so you can confirm the details before you go.

Drive & See · 0–1 mi a day

Some of the best views in America never ask you to leave the driver's seat.

The national parks were built to be seen from the road. Scenic byways climb through alpine passes, wind along glacier-carved valleys and roll out across red-rock desert, with pull-offs placed right where the view stops you cold.

Even if you never step out of the car, it's worth every mile. We plan the route, the timing and the turnouts, and the scenery does the work.

Stand here.

Snow still hanging on up high, a ridge to yourself, and nowhere you need to be. That's Nina. Next it could be you.

The difference

Every day has a Plan B. Some have a Plan D.

Most itineraries fall apart the first time a summit is in the clouds. Ours are built for it.

Here's a real day from our own Alaska plan. One day, four versions, picked the night before based on the trail reports, the forecast, and the tide table.

The planners

Kevin & Nina

We're the two people who spend weeknights reading trail reports and tide tables for fun.

Kevin has been to all fifty states, and he builds the plans: routes, timing, backups, the spreadsheet nobody else wants to make. Nina films everything and makes sure every day has a moment worth stopping for. Every photo on this site is ours.

Questions

Asked & answered.

Something else? Email us or see the full FAQ.

What exactly do I get?

A day-by-day plan built around what you asked for: the main hike or activity each day with distance and realistic time, a Plan B and Plan C for weather, snow, or tides, where to stay with direct booking links, what to reserve and when, and a packing list for the conditions. You can see a real excerpt on our sample plan page.

I'm not a hiker. Is this for me?

Yes. Pick how much you want to walk each day, from 0–1 mile (see it from the road) up to 10+ mile days. A Drive & See plan is built around scenic drives, overlooks and short boardwalks, with the timing worked out so you're at the good pull-offs in the good light. Plenty of the best views in the national parks are a few steps from the car.

Do you book anything for me?

No, and that's on purpose. We're itinerary-only: we plan, you book. We don't book travel, submit permits or reservations, or handle any travel money. Every lodge, permit, rental, and tour in your plan comes with a direct link, so you pay the provider's own price and deal with them directly. The only thing you ever pay us for is the planning. We never take commissions, so a recommendation is only there because it's the right call for your trip.

What do you mean by weather, snow, and tide backups?

Mountains don't care about your vacation days. So every day in your plan has a main route and a fallback if the summit is in the clouds, the trail is still snowed in, or the tide is wrong for a beach route. On our Alaska route, one Kenai Fjords day has four versions, including a beach hike that only works if you leave at a +3 ft tide or lower.

How long does a plan take?

Our standard turnaround is 7–10 days after your intake is complete and work starts. Every plan includes one round of revisions. Need it sooner? Rush is +50% of the plan price.

Where do you plan trips?

Outdoor adventure vacations anywhere in the USA and Canada, all 50 states included. The trips on this site are a few favorites, not the full list. Tell us where you want to go.

Are you guides?

No. We're trip planners, not a guide service, and we're not with you on the trail. Outdoor travel carries real risk and conditions change fast. Your plan helps you make good calls, and you make the final call on the ground.

Ready when you are
